Ivy Bridge comments largely agree that the new architecture not overclock as Sandy Bridge, but that did not stop intrepid overclocking HiCookie reaches 7.032 GHz - a world record: with an Intel Core i7 3770K running on a Gigabyte motherboard. Also set a record worldwide for DDR3 overclocking while in it.
World records have been validated by CPUz and Canard PC and see them laying in the video (after the jump).
Here’s some more details on the setup used by HiCookie:
- Corsair Dominator GT (@2250 MHz)
- Corsair AX1200 PSU
- Intel Core i7 3770K
- GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD3H
Before that move by Amazon to purchase a similar installation for use at home, you should know that this clock speed was achieved while the CPU with cooling liquid nitrogen (as it is often the case with such records).
For the Record of DDR3 memory, used four modules of G.Skill Trident X DDR3-2800 and reach 3280MHz. It was also used a different motherboard a GIGABYTE GA - Z77X - UD5H.
