Samsung Galaxy S III comes with a new MHL port, not compatible with adapters HDMI

Here's a bummer. Flagship Galaxy S III was re-issued port MHL, which is incompatible with the previous card HDMI MHL available for other products from Samsung.
The reason is very simple: despite the MMC USB port looks the same, the uses of phone pins of the connector in a different way. Thus old MMC HDMI cables will not work in the newly released S III.

Unfortunately, there is not any solution: it's a hardware thing and you cannot fix with some hack. It is clear why Samsung decided to change the pins used for the HDMI connection.
Therefore, if you want to connect a Galaxy S III to a HDTV you will need to buy a cable MMC specifically designed to be used with the phone. None of the available standard cables will work. The new cable costs £ 25. A bummer, in fact.
