In financial turmoil, Nokia is looking
for ways to feed its coffers. The sale of its head office seems to be a
solution, but the former world number one mobile phone does not count as
moving.
Nokia did not record profits
for five consecutive quarters, which raises more suspicion on the part of
investors. Nokia finds itself at an impasse and must find ways to keep the
business afloat. It is for this reason that Nokia said it would sell its
headquarters but does not count as moving. Timo Ihamuotila, CFO of Nokia
said today
in Finnish daily Helsingin sanomat : " We
try to find different opportunities for our real estate assets. Our research
also includes a possible sale of the headquarters. however we have no plans to
move headquarters elsewhere. "
The headquarters of
the Finnish company called Nokia House, is located seaside in Espoo, a suburb
of Helsinki. The building was built in the 90s glorious period for the
former number one since he knew at that time exponential growth, taking
advantage of the boom in mobile telephony. Today Nokia bets on Windows
Phone, thanks to support from Microsoft , and
is undergoing restructuring, as evidenced by its recent layoffs.
