Motorola Mobility / Google buys Viewdle


Motorola Mobility (Google ) bought the company Viewdle, a company developing Augmented Reality applications and gesture and facial recognition for Android. The transaction amount was not specified but is estimated at several million dollars by the experts.

Already present on smartphones Motorola, Viewdle applications are based on
augmented reality technology and facial recognition and gesture. The Californian Company is now a property of Google through its subsidiary Motorola Mobility, as announced by a spokesman at Cnet.com: “Motorola today announced it has acquired Viewdle leading company of image recognition and motion. Exists already trade agreements between Motorola and Viewdle who have been collaborating for some time. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. "
According to experts, the amount of the transaction is estimated at between $ 30 and $ 45 million. One of the applications developed by Viewdle can recognize the face of a contact and a photo to "tag" automatically. Thus, it will not be surprising to see this feature get on Google+, Picasa or even the next version of Android.
