Open Web OS 1.0 is available


The death of webOS as we had known about the Pixi, Pre and other Touch Pad has certainly been confirmed one year ago by HP , facing the commercial failure of devices with this operating system alternative to Android and iOS. Here he returns to an open source version called Open webOS 1.0.
First version of the operating system, Open webOS 1.0 is now available, as was announced in January 2012, after the launch of a beta version last month. Result of 450 000 lines of code claimed by the creative team of the OS open source Open web OS 1.0 now includes key features such as a web browser and receiving emails.


In the coming months, engineers want to work on HP WebKit2 on media components and open source audio, but also support Bluetooth. They rely on a particular community as active an expert to pin any bugs operating system, but also provide them with solutions and improvements. For now, Open web OS 1.0 is compatible with various devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Nexus HP that developers have successfully ported the new OS, as the tablet TouchPad . Eventually, porting Open web OS 1.0 is provided on other products.
